Who are we

ROOSH is a ministry of Ryde Baptist Church that provides quality Before and After School Care for children from Kindergarten to Year 6 attending Northcross Christian School and Vacation Care for children from many different schools.

The day-to-day care of students who attend ROOSH is supervised by a team of dedicated and committed Christian staff with the assistance of the Ryde Baptist Church Leadership.

We provide high quality Before School Care, After School Care, and Vacation Care within a Christian environment. Our programs are designed to help in the development of confident, healthy, and happy children and engaged citizens.

Our Values

FUN: We want everyone to enjoy their time at ROOSH so they want to come back.
ENGAGING: We want to capture children’s attention and focus.
EXCELLENCE: We want to give our best, so we can achieve at the highest level.
SAFE: We want everything we do to make ROOSH a safe place for all.
FAITH-BASED: We want all children to spend their time in a Christian environment, and feel free to explore their faith.

When at ROOSH

During Before School Care we provide a wholesome breakfast and a healthy afternoon tea at After School Care. Food is not served at Vacation Care.

We specifically plan for and prepare a program of activities that are both varied and stimulating which will allow for opportunities for children to explore and develop new skills. Our students often provide us with suggestions of new activities which we incorporate into our weekly programs. We also encourage our families to provide suggestions of new activities for their children.

Some of our activities include:

  • Art and crafts
  • Food preparation and cooking
  • Outdoor sports
  • Reading and story-telling
  • Indoor games

In addition, supervised free-play time, without adult intervention, is encouraged to facilitate social and cognitive skill development.

During Vacation Care we plan an exciting and interesting program, made up of internal days but with a number of excursion and incursions for variety of experiences of children.
